We welcome you back to yet another stacked edition of the daily WWE Rumor Roundup where we look at all of the top stories in professional wrestling.

NXT recently suffered another massive blow in the form of talent releases, but WWE may not be done with its budget cuts just yet. The latest backstage report on the future of the WWE raster doesn’t evoke a lot of positives, to say the least.

WWE’s mass releases haven’t stopped AEW from picking up talent as Tony Khan has signed many established names since the turn of the year. A recently hired AEW star reportedly wants to bring a current RAW superstar to Khan’s company.

The latest WWE rumor recap also includes an interesting note that could point to Bray Wyatt’s “landing site.”

We ended the roundup with all the details of Vince McMahon’s “high-level” meeting with a top WWE Superstar.

# 5 More WWE releases are expected

As previously reported, WWE recently released 13 NXT Superstars that featured some heavily promoted names from the black and gold brand.

A senior official told Fightful Select that it was “normal” to post on the WWE. The cadre cuts are expected to continue, but they will not happen in the same frequency or order of magnitude in the future.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast also confirmed the rumor that more releases are on the way. Dave Meltzer also pointed out that WWE may have a few more wrestlers to release during a recent Wrestling Observer Radio.

2021 was already a tough year for professional wrestling as the WWE laid off over 50 wrestlers since January.

Fightful added that the company wanted to move away from a “talent stashing” mode and explained how the COVID-19 pandemic halted WWE’s expansion plans in his report.
