AEW star and analyst Paul Wight believes CM Punk’s debut in AEW is a historic moment in the world of professional wrestling.

Talking about the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet Podcast compared the breathtaking return of CM Punk to the famous iconic moments from bygone times, Paul Wight compares. The WCW legend went on to add that The Straight Edge Superstar reignited the entire wrestling community:

“I mean, it’s probably the biggest and most anticipated return of all time. I mean, you think of the most influential moments in wrestling, moments of the jewelers in history. I was there when Hulk Hogan hit Andre the Giant, when Stone Cold Steve Austin cut the 3:16 promo, when Hulk Hogan came to WCW, you know when the NWO was formed. There are so many moments in history and I’m guaranteed to skip a lot of special moments, but I think this is one of those moments tonight. It’s our second rampage. It’s in Chicago, at the sold out United Center. I mean the stage is ready. They could no longer be served to create an incredible wrestling moment that reignited the wrestling industry, “Paul Wight said.

Almost 15,000 people came to the United Center as soon as they heard the “Cult of Personality” topic. CM punk became the number 1 trend on Twitter in America. It was a sight to behold, especially for the die-hard wrestling fans who watched CM Punk’s last stint at WWE.

The special mystique of the City’s Second Saint over the years may have been one of the reasons people burst into tears on his return.

CM Punk held back for seven years and made minimal appearances, be it in Hollywood or in combat actions. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this is the perfect time for someone to be a fan of wrestling again.
