Islam Makhachev is clearly not impressed with Dan Hooker’s UFC résumé.

In response to the New Zealander’s recent testimony, 29-year-old Dagestani dismissed a possible fight against Hooker because he is 3-3 in his last six bouts.

Before Makhachev won the main event over Thiago Moises last weekend and since the event, the 8th-placed lightweight has continued to shout Makhachev and claim that he is not as good as everyone thinks.

Hooker’s words certainly upset Makhachev, who replied to him on Twitter.

“I’ve got 8 winning streaks, this guy is 3-3 in the last 6 fights. I wanted to fight him a year ago but he was scared to even mention my name. @Danthehangman wish you the best of luck in the next fights, win something and we can talk, “wrote Makhachev.

Hooker claimed Makhachev was only copying Khabib’s homework and that the Dagestani camp spread a false story about him as the next Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“The Hangman” last fought Michael Chandler at UFC 257 earlier this year. He lost the fight via a TKO in the first round. He had previously made it in an exciting five-round competition with Poirier. Hooker’s two straight losses have thrown his stock into the promotion.

If not Dan Hooker, who will Islam Makhachev fight against?

Islam Makhachev named three lightweights on his hit list after his dominating win over Thiago Moises at UFC Vegas 31.

He has a possible fight against Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson or Rafael dos Anjos in mind. All three fighters are above him in the 155-pound ranking.

“Everyone … I see sitting at ESPN – Michael Chandler. Why not? Let’s go, Chandler … You’re from Bellator, I want to make it difficult for you. Let’s do that. Chandler, if you hear me. Let let’s go, let’s do this. You’re from Bellator, I want to check your skills, “Islam Makhachev said of Chandler.

Makhachev also sees Ferguson as an ideal opponent. With ‘El Cucuy’ he wants to close his “unfinished business”.

Last year, the 9th-placed lightweight got involved in a war of words with the former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos. During his post-fight interview with UFC Vegas 31, Islam Makhachev said the Brazilian could escape from him but he could not hide.
