The Southern Brave and Trent Rockets will retire at the Eliminator of the Men’s Hundred at the Kennington Oval in London on Friday 20th August.
The Brave started the tournament with losses in their first two games. Since then, however, the team led by James Vince has been facing defeat. In their previous game, they beat the Oval Invincibles by six wickets after all-round performances by the bowlers and batter.
The Brave even went to the top of the scoreboard, but Birmingham Phoenix won their last game, pushing them to second place.
The Rockets, on the other hand, started the Hundred with a resounding tone. They won their first three games and looked in ominous form. But losses drove them back afterwards. In their last league game against Manchester Originals, they won with seven wickets and qualified for the Eliminator with 10 points. If the Rockets had lost the match at Trent Bridge, the Invincibles would have gotten through.
