Microsoft’s previous game, A Plague Tale: Innocence, launched in 2019 and since its release the game has quickly seen over 1 million total sales. The game took place in France and the story revolved around the survival of two children under the protection of the protagonist Amicia against a cruel priest who, to advance his own plans, carried out an inquisition by spreading rats across the country.

Since the story of Innocence ends with one of the children, Hugo, gaining supernatural powers to control rats, and both protagonists Amicia and Hugo becoming refugees in France, the story of A Plague Tale: Requiem starts from there go on. .


What to Expect from A Plague Tale: Requiem

A Plague Tale: Requiem is a stealth-based action survival game set in France in which the main characters of the game, Amicia and Hugo, are on their journey as refugees. The game was revealed as part of this year’s Expo E3 2021 at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase with an expanded reveal trailer along with a release date.

The trailer featured rats, an integral part of the previous game, when both Hugo and Amicia began their journey. Both character looks have been updated as they both appear older than in the previous game.

While fans of A Plague Tale: Innocence were left on a cliffhanger, no one expected A Plague Tale: Requiem to be revealed anytime soon. But due to the sudden reveal at E3 2021, fans got hyped beyond their wits. But apart from the revealing trailer, Microsoft has not provided any further information on E3 2021.
