Liverpool have had a quiet transfer window so far and only signed one player in the summer. The club are planning to remove some players from their squad to make room for newcomers.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the latest Liverpool News and rumors from August 18, 2021.

Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn has agreed to join Hearts

Liverpool striker Ben Woodburn has agreed to join Scottish Premiership team Hearts on loan.

The Welshman has attracted the interest of clubs in Denmark and Croatia but is expected to play at Tynecastle Park until January.

Woodburn’s loan period could be extended until the end of the season if Liverpool are satisfied with their commitment and playing time in the first half of the season.

The 21-year-old, Liverpool’s youngest ever goalscorer, joined the bench against Norwich City last Saturday after impressing in preparation for the Reds.

Liverpool will receive £ 500,000 for Ben Davies if Sheffield United secures promotion

The terms of Ben Davies’ loan deal have been revealed, with Liverpool earning £ 500,000 if Sheffield United returns to the Premier League immediately.

Davies has borrowed the blades for a season, with the club paying an upfront fee of £ 500,000. The former Preston center-back signed for Liverpool in January but did not appear for the Reds.

Liverpool paid Preston a £ 1.6million fee to sign Davies to replace injured trio Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

The Reds also signed Ibrahima Konate earlier this summer, so Davies was loaned out to play regular football elsewhere.

Ismaila Sarr on Liverpool’s radar

Rumors that Liverpool are planning an offer for Ismaila Sarr have resurfaced after the Senegalese winger impressed in his first league game for Watford.

According to Express, Sarr has asked to leave Watford and Liverpool could test the Hornets’ determination with a £ 40m offer.

The Reds haven’t given depth to their attack as they have only signed one defender in the transfer window this summer.

With reports surfacing that Xherdan Shaqiri might leave, a late move for Sarr may still be an option.
