After the 2021 WWE SummerSlam, John Cena used social media to break his silence. He took to Twitter to show his appreciation to the WWE Universe for giving him the opportunity to return and perform again.

In his tweet, John Cena also thanked the WWE staff and also showed his appreciation for the superstars and especially for the fans.

The leader of the Cenation thanked his fans for giving him an unforgettable summer “at home” with his “family”. Cena ended his tweet by stating that his journey will now take him away, suggesting that he will likely now be taking some time off from WWE programming.

However, John Cena ended his heartfelt message by promising fans that they would see them soon when the former world champion returns to WWE TV.

At this year’s WWE Money in the Bank pay-per-view, John Cena returned to the WWE program. The Cenation leader was on television for the first time in months. He faced Roman Reigns at Money in the Bank after his successful WWE Universal Championship defense against Edge.

Upon his return, Cena made it clear that he was his 17. After weeks of back and forth, Cena and Reigns finally met in the main event of an epic SummerSlam 2021 in Las Vegas.


John Cena failed to win the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2021

At SummerSlam 2021, John Cena failed to win the WWE Universal Championship from Roman Reigns. After a highly competitive battle, it was The Tribal Chief who kept his strap over Cena, preventing him from winning his 17th world title.

The stakes for the epic main event increased after Reigns promised to leave the WWE if Cena beat him. This was not the case, however, as The Leader of Cenation was defeated by Reigns after a brutal spear.
