John Cena can’t wrestle forever, even if he and the WWE wish otherwise. Age plays a role in professional wrestling. The older the megastars get, the more difficult it becomes for them to work full-time for the company.

Cena is now a part-time star due to his Hollywood commitments and sat down with USA Today’s Brian Truitt to talk about his current WWE run and the upcoming DC Comics movie The suicide squad.

While talking about his current full-time return to WWE, Cena admitted that he wished there was a fountain of youth so he could contribute more to the company. However, he also warned that the longer the WWE depends on aging prospects like him, the less stable the future of the WWE will be.

“Man, I wish there was some kind of fountain of youth that I could be part of full-time,” said Cena. I used to chastise people for not working as efficiently as the WWE. And as a young man I failed big. I was judgmental and worried and wanted to get back in the ring because I loved that instant gratification. “

Can John Cena reach out to Vince McMahon?

The WWE Universe has shared John Cena’s concerns for many years, but this is the first time the 16-time World Champion has publicly admitted this problem. This is something that WWE owner Vince McMahon is probably less excited about.

But at the end of the day, he’s John Cena. It is inviolable in the truest sense of the word. McMahon couldn’t do anything to him that could potentially create a wedge between Cena and WWE.

However, this could be a hidden blessing. If McMahon listened to anyone, it’s probably the biggest star he’s had in the past two decades. Only time can tell.

John Cena will compete against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam in Las Vegas on August 21. The pay-per-view will be broadcast live on Peacock in the US and internationally on the WWE Network.
