The dates for India’s long-awaited limited-over tour of Sri Lanka have been announced. The teams will play three ODIs and three T20Is between July 13th and 25th.

India and Sri Lanka will each play three ODIs on July 13th, 16th and 18th. The ODIs will be followed by three T20Is, which will be played on July 21, 23 and 25.

The Indian players participating in the tour to England for the World Test Championship (WTC) final and five test series will not participate in the Sri Lanka tour.

Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya are fighting for India’s captaincy for the limited-over tour. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and a fully fit Shreyas Iyer are other options as captain.

India is currently third on the ICC ODI rankings, while Sri Lanka is ninth after the series defeat in Bangladesh.

In the absence of head coach Ravi Shastri, bowling coach Bharat Arun and punch coach Vikram Rathour, the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian team on their tour of Sri Lanka in July.

The former Indian captain was India’s stroke advisor during the England tour in 2014.

“Team India’s coaching staff will be in the UK and it is best if the young team is led by Dravid as he has worked with almost all of the Indian senior boys. The comfort that the youngsters share with him will be an added benefit, ”an ANI official was quoted as saying.

Dravid was named NCA chief in 2019. Before that, he had coached the Indian U19 and A teams since 2019.

He was the coach of the Indian U-19 team that won the 2018 World Cup and is often credited for India’s phenomenal banking strength.
