Beacons are very helpful in Minecraft. This fact is greatly amplified on Hypixel’s Skyblock server, where their buffs can be increased by forging.

Any player who places a beacon on their island will be glad they took the time to take advantage of it.

The materials players will need to make their own beacon are as follows:

  • Five glass blocks.
  • A full stack of Starfall
  • Three full stacks of enchanted mithril

Finding these materials can be difficult for new players. Fortunately, each of them has defined ways to be found and collected in Minecraft.

Mithril and Starfall are more difficult to collect compared to glass. Fortunately, Minecraft players have documented all the ways to get most of the materials in Hypixel Skyblock. In addition, the in-game economy of the server can be used to buy the necessary goodies.

If players were to buy the necessary Mithril and Starfall from the bazaar, it would cost approximately 332,071 coins. That cost doesn’t include the glass needed, but it’s still a substantial price to pay for newer Skyblock players. Beacons can also be found on the auction house, but their prices can fluctuate.

To start building a beacon, Minecraft players need to make sure their mithril level is 9 or higher, otherwise the recipe will not be available. Once the players have reached the required level, they can start collecting materials. It will take some time, but it is nowhere near the hardest task in Hypixel Skyblock.

The primary way to get glass for the beacon is to melt sand in a furnace. Sand itself is plentiful in the Mushroom Desert area for players who cannot source enough on their private islands.

However, players can choose to create pond islands or desert islands using the Raw Fish or Cactus skill trees. This can provide additional sand for digging on the player’s own island.

Since only five pieces of glass are required to make a beacon, there is no need to mass-produce this block.

Next, Minecraft players will need three stacks of enchanted mithril to create a beacon. To craft a piece of enchanted mithril, players must place 160 standard mithril in their crafting grid. Since it takes the ninth level of mithril skill to craft a beacon, players will likely be familiar with the recipe for enchanted mithril.

To get enough mithril, all you have to do is mine it from the mithril veins in the dwarf mines. It will take quite a bit of mithril to make the necessary stacks of enchanted mithril. This task will be time consuming unless players replenish their supplies from the bazaar.

Eventually, players must acquire Starfall. The material is difficult to find, but is captured by Star Sentrys and Treasure Hoarders in the dwarf mines.

Star Sentrys appear randomly, but drop Starfall when hit. Treasure hunters will also drop the materials they need, but players will have to kill them for it. Treasure hunters can be found fairly regularly in the upper mines area of the map, but players should definitely expect a fight.

Finally, players who come in contact with the members of the Cult of the Fallen Star in the Cliff Veins can also receive Starfall. You can do this by meeting the members while wearing the Fallen Star helmet that they provide to the player.

Once Minecraft players have the necessary materials, they simply need to follow the recipe for the beacon and make it. It may be worth getting extra Starfall from the dwarf mines, as it will require generating Power Crystals in The Forge to power the Beacon itself.
