Drew McIntyre has made life difficult for Jinder Mahal, Shanky and Veer since the Modern Day Maharaja returned to WWE RAW. Whenever the trio tries to ally against the Scottish psychopath, he draws his sword and swings towards them.

In the episode of WWE RAW last week, McIntyre called his sword Angela and explained the reason for the name.

Drew McIntyre is well on his way to meeting Jinder Mahal in a match at WWE SummerSlam. Before his match, McIntyre made a pit stop at the Pat McAfee show where he discussed the idea behind the sword, its name and his expectations for his new gimmick.

The former WWE Champion stated that he wanted to introduce the wearing of a kilt to highlight his Scottish heritage, but the sword was Vince McMahon’s idea. Drew McIntyre added:

“A lot of us are tall, in shape and hopefully a little good looking, but we want something to look different outside the box. I said, ‘They came to me and said,’ How would you feel to bring it in, yours Bringing legacy and your history? I said, ‘I absolutely love it.’ Then they gave me the big ass sword. I’ve been swinging this around for a long time. We just gave it a name. It’s named after my late mom, which is really cool. I bring it to the ring now and I start using it. Hopefully there is an endgame for this thing. There has to be an endgame for this thing. If I get it in the ring that often, I’ll be using this damn thing right. “

The story of Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal in WWE

Drew McIntyre will face Jinder Mahal at WWE SummerSlam this Saturday, but the two have been best friends in the past. The duo were part of 3MB along with Heath Slater before they were fired from the company.

Since being released, Mahal and McIntyre have returned and held the WWE Championship. McIntyre’s run as WWE Champion was younger when he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 36.

The Scottish psychopath dropped The Miz’s title in the Elimination Chamber when The A Lister redeemed his Money In The Bank briefcase for an exhausted McIntyre.
